1) When compiling, I get this error: "ipt/ipt.h:14:25: fatal error: ipt/message.h: No such file or directory."
Your environment variables (BUILD_HOME and DESTDIR) are not properly set. Maybe you have switched to another user or terminal after exporting them. If you use "sudo", note that the environment variables aren't preserved by default. In this case, we recommend firstly to log as root in the terminal and then follow the instructions without "sudo".
2) Problems enabling 3D graphics in mlab, bad graphics or missing GL/GLwDrawA.h when compiling.
You can enable 3D-display functions in mlab using the ./configure script and recompiling. This allows mlab to show 3D terrains, but this feature is untested in this release. Additionaly, enabling this feature may cause problems with several graphic cards drivers, even showing 2D graphics. NVidia graphics cards are recommended as we have found these problems with some ATI and Intel graphics cards. To avoid compilation problems, you must install the packages libGLw-devel, MesaGLw-devel or libglw1-mesa-dev depending on your distribution.
3) Many components do not work after compiling directly from the .tar.gz file.
It's necessary to run "make install" as root after compilation. If you want to avoid this because you don't have enough privileges or any other reason, open the Makefile, change the line "export DESTDIR=/usr" by "export DESTDIR=`pwd`", run "make clean", then "make" and finally add the generated "bin" subfolder to your PATH environment variable.
